Frankly, size matters.
Last week I went to the Grand Canyon. It was a bucket list trip for my 40th birthday.
The canyon is 277 miles long and 18 miles wide. Those are big, impressive numbers.
While I was there, I was thinking about two things. How huge it is and just how small we are.
We quantify so much of our work and life with numbers. Especially in the writing business.
How many subscribers do you have for your newsletter? How many followers? Reviews? Titles published? Income earned?
In business we can measure growth with thick, meaty data (wink, wink). We look at the figures and make decisions.
And the bigger the number, the better. Right?
